Our goal is to help you develop your skills and realize your potential as a writer. To achieve this goal, we offer free comprehensive writing support to students, faculty, staff, and all other members of the University of Western Ontario community. Appointments and Drop-In Services

Looking for in-depth development of your writing abilities? Sign up for an Appointment and have an hour-long, one-on-one meeting with a writing counsellor. You can bring a particular assignment or simply come with general concerns. Got a quick question or need someone to give your paper a last-minute check? Our Drop-In services are available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the term in our Weldon Library location, beside Quotes Cafe.

Workshops and Seminars

Whether you have specific or general writing concerns, we have you covered. Our Writing in the Disciplines (WID) workshops target specific issues in short sessions. Graduate Writing Workshops offered through GradWRITE! address writing issues for graduate students.


Summer Academic Writing Clinic

Designed specifically for incoming first-year students, our annual Summer Academic Writing Clinic introduces you to the ins and outs of writing at the university level.

Online Writing Lab

This section contains helpful Writing Resources to browse and download, Web Links to various useful sites on the World Wide Web, and the opportunity to have someone critique your essays via email with Online Writing Help.
